Submit the score report, education, field experience, insurance, application, and fees your state requires.
Pre-inspection agreement, standards of practice, system sequence, photos, notes, limitations, and quality review.
Work for an inspection company, pair with a mentor, or build a properly insured business.
Do not rush the first paid inspections. Use checklists, peer review, and clear recommendations.
Ask before accepting the first job
- Does the state require an active license or registration number?
- Does the firm provide E&O and general liability coverage?
- Who supplies the agreement, report software, tools, and standards?
- Will a senior inspector review early reports?
- How are ancillary services, referrals, and conflicts handled?
Use the NHIE result as one credential, not the entire business
Passing demonstrates entry-level competence. Legal authority, insurance, field requirements, and professional systems remain state- and business-specific.
